  19. This file contains the information you need to install our Windows
  20. NT 4.0 driver for your Terminator Trio64V+ video card.

  23. Installation Instructions
  24. =========================

  26. A) Install display driver and utility set :
  27.  
  28.    1) Ensure that Windows NT 4.0 is properly installed on your system.
  29.  
  30.    2) Change directory to "x:\Term\WinNT40\T64Video\English\Disk1".
  31.  
  32.    3) Run SETUP.EXE.
  33.  
  34.       ("x" represents the drive letter of your CD ROM)
  35.  
  36.    This program will install our BETA release driver and utility set on
  37.    your system.

  39. B) Install display driver only :
  40.  
  41.    1) Ensure that Windows NT 4.0 is properly installed on your system.
  42.  
  43.    2) Go to "Main" group and Click on the "Control Panel" icon.
  44.  
  45.    3) Click "Display" icon to invoke Display Properties.
  46.  
  47.    4) Change to "Settings" page.
  48.  
  49.    5) Click "Display Type" button.
  50.  
  51.    6) Click "Change" button on "Change Display" dialog box.

  53.    7) Click "Have Disk" button.
  54.  
  55.    8) When prompted for the path at the "Install From Disk" dialogue
  56.       box, enter the path where the Windows NT 4.0 drivers are located.
  57.       If installing from the CD ROM, the path will be:

  59.            x:\Term\WinNT40\T64Video\English\Disk1
  60.  
  61.       ("x" represents the drive letter of your CD ROM)
  62.  
  63.    9) Select "Hercules Computer Technology, Inc. ViRGE" item,
  64.       and Click "OK" button.
  65.  
  66.    10) After the installation is completed, click "OK" .

  68.    11) After restarting Windows NT 4.0, you may reenter the
  69.        Control Panel and Display icon to select the resolution and
  70.        refresh frequency you want to use.   Simply click on the "List
  71.        Available Modes" button, and select your desired mode from the
  72.        list.  Be sure to click the "Test" button to make sure that your
  73.        monitor can display the resolution and refresh frequency you have
  74.        selected.

  76.    12) Restart Windows NT so that the new settings can take effect.

  79. Changing Resolutions
  80. ====================
  81. Start Hercules TouchNT to change your resolution, or
  82.  
  83. 1) Open the Control Panel and select the "Display" icon.
  84.  
  85. 2) Double-click to open the "Display Settings" window.
  86.  
  87. 3) Select "List All Modes", and select the resolution (Desktop
  88. Area), Color Palette and refresh (Refresh Frequency) you want.
  89.  
  90. 4) Click on "Test" button, then click OK.   NOTE:  Due to the
  91. display limitations of 640x480 resolution, the "Test" button will
  92. not be visible (You will barely be able to see the top of the
  93. "Test" button at the bottom of your screen.  Use the "<Alt> <T>"
  94. key combination to enter test mode.
  95.  
  96. 5) Observe test pattern to verify color and flicker etc. are
  97. acceptable.  Test pattern will disappear in a few seconds.
  98.  
  99. 6a) Once test pattern is acceptable, click on "YES" and click on
  100. "Restart Now" to restart NT.
  101.  
  102. 6b) If test pattern was not acceptable, click "NO".  You will
  103. receive the a dialogue box stating "The screen weas not visible
  104. due to a limitation of your video card or display monitor  Please
  105. try differe4nt settings for your display.".  Click "OK", then
  106. repeat steps 3 and 4.
